Nokia lumia 920 launch and price confirmed for India

Santa’s gift to India: Nokia Lumia 920

NOkia lunia 920A very Merry Christmas to all. Got some good news for all Nokia fans and lovers of Lumia 920. This amazing phone will be available in stores around 15 january 2013. I myself have been waiting for this phone since 5th september, and every day felt like years.
Today Microsoft officially launched Windows 8 mobiles in India. What does this mean? This means alot, because I was there at that event and there were handsets from Samsung and HTC also and to be very honest i didn’t even touched those phones because i knew what i was there for.

Nokia pureview

Dont expect any miracles, though this technology definitely helps u get better image but i doesn't mean that this camera wont take bad images. One thing is very popular about cameras
a camera is only as good as camera man
It could be possible that the device i used was one of the initial models, but to take a good picture u gotta hold ur camera little still, else images will be blurred(though blurriness not easily detectable).

Pre order for Nokia Lumia 920In India

Pre orders will start from 2nd january. So if you really want this device make sure you book  a pre-order before any one do, because what i saw at Nokia Priority was crazyness for this device(though it is hard to know how many will actally buy). Sales personal told me that they open store at around 10:30 am. So i’ll be there to confirm my preorder before anyone. I advice same to you also.

Price for Lumia 920

Nokia lumia 920 will be sold at a price of Rs 38000, cannot confirm till now whether this includes all taxes or not. And there is one great news all buyers will be getting wireless charging plate for Lumia 920 for free.
Nokia lumia 920 will be available in store on 15 January 2013. Though i have read many blog articles and news articles that suggest that lumia 920 will be available in first week of January 2013. But sales rep at Nokia store told me that lumia 920 will be available on 15 January. same was told to me by event organizers at windows 8 phone launch event.
I dont care what date it will be available i m just happy that nokia lumia 920 will be available for purchase for sure in month of january 2013. More over Nokia India facebook is also getting updates related to Lumia 920. SO guys get ready good times are not away.

NOKIA INDIA ( BULLSHIT COMPANY )

Nokia Customer Care has been in the Limelight from last few weeks. This is because their chats with the customers were disclosed by taking screenshots. According to them Nokia India is launching its product Lumia 920/820 in 1st week of January and Nokia Lumia 620 in 3rd Week Of January.

But when it comes to Nokia India Twitter and Facebook Service the reply is totally different.
They are not aware of any news which can help us know the launch dates.

When we asked on Facebook page of Nokia India " WHEN IS THE LAUNCH OF NEW DEVICES OF NOKIA LUMIA SERIES ? "

Reply :   Hi, Hi, the exact details of launch dates will be made available closer to the time of launch. Please visit http://bit.ly/QTpewd to know more about the Nokia Lumia 920.

We can see here that they are avoiding the questions with such replies.
I dont know why are they doing this to the Indian Customers. Why is Not everything Transparent Like in case of USA and UK.

Either the Nokia India is not bothered about the launch or They dont want such high end devices entering India.

Many People are loosing interest in Lumia Series because of this.
Nokia India say " We Hope the Wait is WORTH "
BULLSHIT BOSS , That Much Wait is Not at all Worth.

1. Nokia Declared Countries who will receive Lumia 920/820 in November , in which India was mentioned.
2. After a Month when November 1st week was done, They Realized that they had a printing Mistake.
   ( BULLSHIT )
How can Nokia Do such Mistakes ? It was a total LIE which they came up with just because they were not at all Interested in Indian Market for Premium Devices.

3. In November BGR India Said that according to Nokia Officials , Lumia 920 will come to India in Mid December. You Guys verywell know what happened.

4. In Mid December Nokia PR said that Nokia Lumia 920 will Launch in India on 23rd Dec 2012.
   Once Again a Total Nonsense.

5.  Why are you even reading more reasons GO BUY HTC 8X / 8S

NOKIA IS BULLSHIT , it Can Never ever Be Like APPLE .
I never agreed to the above statement but now i totally believe in it.

360 Million Lumia 920 Ordered By ONE ONLINE RETAILER

The 360Buy retailer to procure $320 million worth of phones from Nokia.

Lumia 920 pre-orders were opened by Nokia China on 11th December. Four retailers including Amazon, 360Buy, 51Buy and TMall were taking orders for the device. We further reported that both TMall and Amazon were sold out of their stock the very next day. Now 360Buy.com, which is 2nd largest online retailer in China, has confirmed that they received orders for about 3000 Lumia 920 on the very first day of opening of pre-order. Also, noteworthy point is that 360Buy has been continuously taking pre-orders of Lumia 920 since then. Looks like they may have sold a good number of Lumia 920 since then.

Now coming to the article from where we got above piece of news, Nokia has entered into strategic cooperation agreement with 360buy.com on Thursday. The latter has agreed to procure 2 billion yuan ($320 million) worth of mobile phones from Nokia next year. Looks like, Nokia will introduce Asha 205, the first Nokia device sold only through online channels in China.

Nokia Corp seems to have adopted strategy of cooperating with e-commerce websites and expanding its online sales keeping in mind increasing importance of online channels. About 30 million mobile phones are expected to be sold online in China this year, up 68 percent from 2011, according to a report issued by SINO Market Research. The growth rate is more than 10 times that for mobile phones that were sold in offline outlets during the period, the report estimated.

Windows Phone 8 supports speech recognition in 15 languages including Indian dialects

Windows Phone 8 supports speech recognition in 15 languages including Indian dialects

Windows Phone 8 may look and feel very similar to Windows Phone 7.5, but in actuality there are number of changes that range from the new start screen, to the shared core with Windows 8 and every other day new features keep propping up. Microsoft is touting yet another improvement in its mobile OS with its improved language support. In a blog post, today Microsoft claims that the Windows Phone 8 on-screen keyboard works across 50 languages and it’s speech recognition works with 15 languages and it even supports the Indian accent.
Microsoft says that improved language support was the number one feature that customers had asked for and from the 22 languages supported in Windows Phone 7.5, the support has gone up to 50 in Windows Phone 8. Additionally, the 15 languages supported by the speech recognition software in the platform include Brazil, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India (English), Italy, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States, which makes it a truly global platform.
In comparison Apple’s Siri does a very poor job of recognizing the Indian dialect in the process it is rendered useless for most Indians. Google’s Voice search works much better and is quite accurate, but we cannot say if it’s better than Microsoft’s solution or not.

Windows Phone 8 a Threat To Google

Now Google breaking third party YouTube apps

As the Fresh Windows Phone 8 is Out for Consumers , Google Analyzed that its a major product threat to its very own ANDROID.

Hence in few weeks google announced that it will stop Providing Push mail support to iOS and WP8.

This was not enough for them to stop the threat hence now Youtube (3rd Party apps ) are being disconnected with the Primary YOUTUBE. To Avoid other OS to use the Youtube services.

What if Microsoft Blocks all the Google Services on WINDOWS Desktop ( XP / vista / 7 / 8 ) - GOOGLE YOU WILL BE SCREWED !! :P

Report source:- wmpoweruser

Ok, I am starting to get suspicious that Google does not like Microsoft.
The latest is a note from Lazyworm Applications, the developer of MetroTube, that they have hidden their app in Marketplace due to Google making some back-end changes to YouTube which has “effectively broken all 3rd party YouTube apps.
Of course this is not the first time this happened, but it comes at a rather bad time, with news of Google dropping support for Exchange ActiveSync in Gmail and also saying they will not be developing apps for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 any time soon.
Fortunately LazyWorm apps says they have pinpointed the cause and should have a fix out soon.  In the mean time the HTML5 version of videos appear to be still working, so launching videos from the browser should not be any issue.
Thanks Atta Elayyan for the tip.

Nokia Lumia 920 to get camera fix update

Nokia's flagship phone—the Lumia 920—is getting a new update. According to Engadget, the update, dubbed PR1.1, aims to fix a major issue with the camera of the phone where photos suffer from a lack of detail and generally being fuzzy. Judging by the sample shots though, while the fuzziness seems to have been fixed, there still seems to be some problems with the white balance in photos. The update also includes many other tweaks related to stability and web browsing, along with new features from Microsoft, such as declining calls through SMS.

The difference between pictures taken before the update, and after

Back in November, it was revealed that the Lumia 920 will be making its way to India alongside its younger sibling—the Lumia 820.  For those looking forward to the new Windows Phone 8 Lumia handsets, our sources have just confirmed that these handsets are not coming to India this year and will be launched only by 2013. As of now, the official date of availability has not been finalised, but in all likelihood, the handsets should be available in January.

With the prices of the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 being released, we now have a vague idea about the pricing of the new Lumias when they are launched in India. The Lumia 920 is priced in Singapore at S$899, which roughly translates to Rs 40,750, whereas and the Lumia 820 costs S$699, which roughly translates to Rs 31,700. However, one should not expect the prices to be the same when the handsets come to India—the additional taxes could make the devices cost a bit more.

Nokia has a lot depending on the success of these handsets, and we expect them to launch an aggressive marketing campaign prior to the release.

Nokia first took the wraps off its Lumia 920 at the Nokia World 2012 event in New York City. Featuring a a polycarbonate body, the Nokia Lumia 920 packs in a Snapdragon S4 processor and a PureView sensor. It also comes with the Blink app, which is the smartphone's Burst mode. The smartphone will feature an LCD display, which is a little better than the HD displays available now.

The Nokia Lumia 920 includes the latest Nokia PureView camera, which the company claims captures five times more light than competing smartphones. It gives bright pictures without flash, even indoors and at night. It also features built-in wireless charging, making it easy to keep the battery topped up throughout the day.

The Nokia Lumia 820 offers exchangeable covers in a range of colours. Both phones have the option of wireless charging, a sensitive touchscreen and Nokia ClearBlack display technology. The Lumia handsets come with the full suite of Nokia navigation applications, including Nokia City Lens and Nokia Music that streams unlimited music directly to the phone.

Why Nokia or Why BB10

Nokia or Research In Motion: Which Is the Better Rebound Candidate?

If it were left to just the two of them, the battle for market share, long-term growth, and, yes, even relevance in the mobile marketplace, between Nokia (NYSE: NOK  ) and Research In Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM  ) heading into 2013 would be one for the ages.

Alike in many ways, particularly their respective business stages, there are differences Nokia and RIM investors should consider, particularly if you're looking for growth alternatives. As we move into 2013, both Nokia and RIM are poised with new products, new operating systems, and a hiccup or two from industry-leading Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL  ) . Fans of each are ready to usher in the new year.

The case for RIM
It's been more than a month since RIM CEO Thorsten Heins announced the news RIM shareholders had been waiting for -- BB10 is coming. Loaded with new and upgraded features, RIM's new OS and phones running BB10 are scheduled for worldwide introduction on Jan. 30.
To Heins' credit, he's made it clear RIM intends to focus on what it does best -- provide companies and public sector employees with a secure smartphone experience. Yesterday's announcement that RIM will roll out BB10 on a limited basis to some of its biggest corporate and government clients demonstrates that commitment. What the beta-type rollout also does is reinforce how important it was that RIM received FIPS 140-2 certification before BB10 even hits the streets. Earning the FIPS 140-2 certification means BB10 has already met U.S. government security and user guidelines, allowing for its early testing by the public sector. Nice move; and it should give us some real-world feedback on BB10 sooner, as opposed to later.
As RIM fans are quick to point out, and rightfully so, the company has continued to add to its strong balance sheet, even as sales have slumped. And with more than $2 billion in cash to go along with zero long-term debt, RIM has bought itself plenty of time for the adoption of BB10. Its strong balance sheet, combined with the excitement over BB10, has driven RIM's share price up 51% the past month, for a whopping 92% over the past three quarters.

The case for Nokia
Nokia's share price is also up, a cool 42% in the past month. Like RIM, much of the increase is due to a continuous stream of positive news. Among the highlights are that Amazon.com and AT&T both sold out of their allotment of Lumia smartphones early, and quickly. Also, Nokia's entry-level smartphone alternatives shouldn't be ignored. The introduction of its lowest-priced Lumia yet, the 620, costs a mere $249 without subsidies, making the 620 the least expensive smartphone running Microsoft's (NASDAQ: MSFT  ) Windows 8 OS. The 620 is being shipped to Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East in January, before rolling out to other markets.

The recent deal with China Mobile (NYSE: CHL  ) to supply its 700 million customers with Nokia's made-for-China Lumia 920T, was good news in and of itself. If early indications prove correct, it appears Nokia has a hit on its hands. According to Amazon.com China, the Lumia 920T is the leading, high-end smartphone in its lineup, and that includes the recently released iPhone 5 from Apple. The only problem? Keeping enough Lumias in stock, something that needs to be addressed, now.

Looking ahead
Apple didn't win its most recent court case against Samsung, but it remains the primary competitor to Nokia and RIM in the smartphone industry. Samsung sells more phones worldwide, as does Nokia, but in the high-end, high-margin smartphone market, Apple reigns supreme. Its recent deal to bring back Google (NASDAQ: GOOG  ) maps has quelled those concerns.

As for Google, its own Nexus smartphone, which is selling more than a million units a month, is just the tip of the iceberg. As it continues to assimilate Motorola Mobility, expect to see more Google smartphone offerings. And you can expect the same from Microsoft, too. The surface tablet was its initial foray into mobile computing, but with Windows 8 off and running, a Microsoft phone won't be far behind.
Both Nokia and RIM are poised for a stellar 2013. Even as Nokia trims non-core businesses, refinances at least part of its debt, and announces early Lumia successes, looking the competitors straight in the smartphone eye has its risks. RIM, as it should be, is attacking the commercial and public sector, a market it could dominate. As for BB10, the upside is tremendous.

So what separates the two? For me, Nokia offers a few things RIM doesn't. Namely, a $6 billion patent portfolio generating $650 annually, and more to follow now that RIM has lost its patent infringement suit to Nokia. Nokia, too, is in a strong cash position, and concerns regarding the continuation of its 6.4% dividend yield (as voiced by many a Fool) are premature. RIM's stratospheric rise in value also makes me wonder how much of a successful BB10 rollout is already factored into its share price.
Finally, a $20 RIM stock price in 2013 wouldn't surprise me in the least -- assuming BB10 meets expectations, that is -- but at $4 a share, Nokia offers even more potential upside. Add in that dividend, along with its upside, and the (slight) edge goes to Nokia.

Nokia, like RIM, has been struggling in a world of Apple and Android smartphones. However, Nokia is making inroads as it banks its future on the next generation of Windows smartphones.

Nokia Lumia 920 Software Update

Nokia's Lumia 920 smartphone will be receiving an update for its Windows Phone 8 operating system, with the company's US arm looking to release by the end of the month.
As Nokia's flagship Windows Phone 8 device, the Lumia 920 is an impressively powerful smartphone with an excellent high-resolution display. The handset has been selling well throughout the world with many in Europe choosing it over Apple's rival iPhone 5 thanks to better support for non-US 4G LTE networks.
The smartphone isn't without its flaws, however: bugs in Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system, causing issues with synchronizing emails and random reboots, are causing more than a few headaches, and while the HTC 8X has already received an over-the-air update to resolve the problems, Nokia's devices have not.
That will change, Nokia has promised. Responding to customer queries via Twitter, the company officially confirmed that Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 update, fixing the email and rebooting bugs, will be made available on the Lumia 920 as soon as possible. "Microsoft will be releasing a SW [software] update this month," the company claimed. "We'll announce from here when available."

HENCE , INDIA WILL RECEIVE PHONES With an Updated Version, If not then update will soon reach your phone immediately after you buy it.
